WHAT’S IN THE BAG?
Set in 1,000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest, Slaley Hall is one of the premier golf and leisure destinations in North East England. An Edwardian mansion, two European Tour-standard courses, and a full-service spa - all just 25 miles from Newcastle.
THE COURSES
The Hunting Course (European Tour host)
Par - 72
Yardage 7,069
Often nicknamed, 'The Augusta of the North', Hunting is a treasure of a Northumberland golf course, magnificently maintained and host to several flagship events.
Don't be lulled by the undulating fairways, streams and lakes, towering trees and banks of rhododendrons - this course will catch out the unwary. Designed by Dave Thomas, well placed bunkers and tricky greens make this USGA standard, multi championship hosted course a real challenge.
The Priestman Course
Par - 72
Yardage 6,901
Set on higher ground, this Neil Coles designed golf course gives panoramic views of the Tyne Valley and beyond.
Wind can be a factor on this 6,901 yard undulating course, criss-crossed by streams. But don't be put off, this is a classic course and suitable for all levels of golfer.
THE STAY
141 elegantly decorated rooms in the historic Edwardian mansion. Dinner, bed and breakfast included. Unwind in the spa - 20-metre heated pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi - or dine at the Claret Jug clubhouse bar with its open fireplaces.
THE EXPERIENCE
Four golfers, both courses, one night in the mansion. Dates confirmed with the winner, subject to availability - trip to be taken before 31st March 2027.
